I found this question posted on LinkedIn the other day.

“What are the biggest challenges you face in the day to day work with your Head Start/Early Head Start program?”

Many of the answers were about the lack of qualified staff and having the funds to pay them properly.  One particular answer stuck out to me.  Janet said

“too much paperwork. We were paid to teach not be a paper pusher. When the federal government gets involved there is always one more page and copies of that one more page.”

That reminded me of a Head Start Director that recently told me that they collect about 80 pages during the registration of one child.
