We are at the Missouri Community Action Network annual conference in Lake of the Ozarks, MO this week. It is a beautiful location for a conference.
Better Together was the theme. They recognized the outstanding CAP staff members, volunteers, and strategic partners for the year.
According to 2018 Missouri Poverty Report, 14% of Missourians live below the federal poverty level. So the CAP agencies in Missouri have their work cut out for them.

Keynote speaker Jon Petz gave a wonderful talk on rekindling your passion for what you do. He encouraged CAP staff members to remember why they have the job they have. And to remember what they do really matters. He told a touching story about how he was asked to visit a child in the hospital and do some magic for him. He had no idea how many lives this would have. But years later that one visit is still having an impact on people. He said that what each person in a CAP agency does is so very important and you don’t know the lasting impact you will have. At the conclusion of the talk, he gave away a copy of his book, Significance in Simple Moments to everyone. www.7ofhearts.com
