Head Start Awareness Month

October is Head Start Awareness Month.  But, you may not even know that Head Start is.

Head Start is a program of the Department of Health and Human Services that provides early childhood education to low-income children and their families.  Over one million children across the country attend Head Start.  This program helps at-risk children get prepared for Kindergarten.  Head Start also offers Early Childcare that provides care for infant and toddlers for parents that could not afford childcare.  Often a local Head Start is part of a Community Action Agency.

Head Start’s do an amazing job at careing for and preparing children for a successful future.  Here is a video that explains it in more detail:
